  • There is an industry-wide process for dealing with unsolicited switches, so you must continue to pester your supplier to sort it out. Don't cancel any direct debit payment authority. Read your meters monthly as usual and provide them to your supplier, but keep records of the meter readings in case they don't get entered properly onto your account. If your supplier stops debiting you, then you would be well advised to squirrel away the money you should have paid somewhere safe (savings account?) so you have it ready for the day of reckoning. I can't see how it could happen, but if some other energy supplier starts asking for bank details don't tell them, and if a DD shows up on your bank account from an unexpected source, ask you bank to cancel it.
  • I dont pay by DD  so im kind of in limbo ..ive just received yesterday my final bill from my old company  which considering i havent given any readings the money owed  is really low, I'm wondering if i paid it all  would my old supplier  not try to get me back then i would be stuck  having no contact with the new supplier then im back in limbo  again  as you said im going to have to keep pestering to get some answers

Find out who has stolen you - they can also check all your details as this is likely someone else's switch that has fouled up. Gas you can do on line and many of the electricity networks also have an on line facility but you may have to do a search for that.
Most suppliers are pretty incompetent when it comes to reversing erroneous transfers. I got £52 of free electric plus £60 compo so it is not always all bad :)

  • i got told it was Avro .....never heard of them thou.  im going to give my supplier  a ring and see how far theyve got  probably not far  would be nice to get it sorted by next year 😊
Thank you for the link i will give that ago
