Clutch failure under warranty

Need advice .. garage say driver error after 17 yrs driving never had issue before clutch was installed last April 2019 by them .. I now think faultily on their part as they discourage sending away part and put car bk together n sent me away no charge but no new appointment date etc ... I think if I’d of been braver / not so stupid last yr I would of gone straight bk as smell of burn remained in low gears

Sorry what, you had a clutch replaced in April 2019 and its now failed 16 odd months later?

Not sure if you are going to get this replaced for free.  I would take it to another garage, get them to check the fly wheel and clutch cylinder as well.

So the new clutch fitted last year was under the car's manufacturer warranty...? And now it's failed again. Still under the warranty?

Or you think there should be a warranty on the clutch replacement?

You've been driving around for 16 months with "a smell of burn"?

This. It may have needed a small adjustment but by continuing to drive with a slipping clutch you have worn it out. Indeed, you've done well to get it to last that long.
  • I would check the gear oil level, and clutch fluid level.
