Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me, my ex partner has a contract but I’m not sure if it’s in my name, a payment has been coming out of my bank, but I have recently just spoken to him for him to change the payments to come out of his bank, now the payment has not been taken from my bank, so does that mean the contract is in his name as he has an account with vodaphone and I don’t. I think we just used my bank for payments, how would I find out. I did try and phone vodaphone but there said they would send a link the phone which my ex partner has, I don’t get any emails from vodaphone, the only thing I get is mail which is is addressed to but they are sending the mail to my address, would that because the payments are coming from my bank.

They're two entirely different things, somebody in Aberdeen could quite easily pay for an phone that doesn't go outside of Cornwall if there's a legitimate need for it.If they're physically mailing you at your address then its probably safe to assume it it s in your name, assuming it says your name on the letters they're sending and not his. But I dare say a lot depends on who set this up in the first place.0

No because he has all the details, The money gets taken from my bank and then he gives me the money every month, about a month ago I told him I didn’t want to pay for the contract anymore, so I think he’s changed the payment details to his bank but apparently he can only do this if he’s the account holder, I’ve tried to speak to customer services but I can’t seem to speak to anyone.0

As already stated, VF don’t care who pays ( as long as it’s legal ) , but it does matter who’s name the account is in, perhaps , if it’s in your name, and you paid, your ex called VF , answered the security questions and changed the payments from your bank to his bank account, then that’s fine providing the payment is maintained, any payment default impacts you, because it’s in your name.....if the account was in your ex name but the payment came from your bank, then it doesn’t really matter as any defaults would impact him not you...the fact that the last payment didn’t come from you means he must have took some action regarding this,

Just cancel the DD. If the account is in your name you'll hear from them about the cancelled DD.
