Does Capital One’s fraud protection still cover other cards even if those cards aren’t from them?

I’ve had a Capital One card for many years now. I initially signed up to this thanks to an article on here informing us of their fraud protection covering other cards, even if those cards weren’t from Capital One.

I’m wondering if they still do this as I’m wondering if it’s better to just cancel this account and use my Halifax Clarity card as my main credit card instead.

  • The fraud protection just means that they'll deal with any fraud on your Capital One account.  They can't influence anyone else's fraud triggers.

A bit like all card providers.

I may just cancel this card at some point anyway as it appears there’s no real benefits in keeping it open, no cashback at the moment either.

    Thanks for your reply.

If its your longest held card then it would be better to keep it to help your credit history, pay for something each month with it and pay it off in full just to keep it active.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.
