Redundancy invitation letter

Options
hi, received a redundancy invitation letter last week, had a meeting with my employer and they kept insisting "no final decision has been made" regarding redundancies but as ive been employed over 4 and a half years, and furlough pay being reduced they are forcing me to leave on my own accord and forfeiting any redundancy pay. The wage has dropped significantly in the last few weeks as i have been using holidays up to "top up" my wage. They have told me a number of employees are still not at work but everyone in my department has returned, and other guys have been employed to take my position.

  • What is your question?
  • Furlough pay has not been reduced.  How are you being forced out ? as you must be getting at least 80% of your wage and 100% when you use holiday.

If they are calling for voluntary redundancy, how can a redundancy advisory letter be 'forcing you to leave of your own accord'? At most, you are being asked if you would accept voluntary redundancy were it offered.
Furlough pay remains at 80% until end of October, the difference is that the state will only contribute 60% this month-your employer makes up the other 20%.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • what i was asking was can the company hire new people to do my job, and keep telling me that it isnt safe to return when it clearly is

Has the Company hired new people or simply deployed existing staff.
