Post Office Credit Card becomes a Jaja Credit Card.

I've had a PO credit for many years which I only use for travel (what's that???!!!).  It's changing to Jaja which I've never heard of but I can't work out if it's still a good choice for holiday spending or if I should use my Halifax Clarity?  Can anyone advise please?

  • Have they not sent you a letter outlining any changes to the terms and conditions as a result of the change of branding?

JaJa don’t charge foreign transaction fees for new customers so if you have a Post Office card with out fx fees it seems rather unlikely that JaJa will impose them now. I expect you will get new T&Cs which will confirm any changes that are being made.
  • I also hold a Post Office card for travel (and other transactions originated abroad) I received an email today which said

Your Post Office Credit Card will continue to work once the move to Jaja has taken place. You can carry on using your card in the same way as you do now - including making purchases of up to £45 using the contactless feature.

You will still benefit from 0% fees on purchases when you use your card abroad.

I have a couple of continuous payment authorities on my card so was wondering if I needed to change them manually. I spoke to CS and even though the line wasn’t clear, I found that you could continue using the PO card for thirty days after receiving the Jaja card. And yes I would have to inform my suppliers with the new card number within the 30 days.

Appears I'm not the only one having major problems. My CC is mainly for holidays but I use it a few times during the year so it's not cancelled.  Eventually got through on Mon after at least 30 mins wait on phone and I've tried everyday this week to complete registration and get so far and then it says 'system not available try again later'.  Have now sent an email asking when they are going to have a system that customers can actually use and view their own accounts and that I hope they will be lenient with customers whose bills they can't pay due to lack of ability to get on the system.  I wonder how much they are paid by PO to administer the CC business because so far it's dreadful.  If you try and ring be prepared for the tinniest music on the planet. Flood them with emails: hello@jaja.co.uk

Jaja are not being paid by the Post Office.
The (now former) Post Office credit cards were actually issued and administered by the Bank of Ireland. The Bank of Ireland then sold its UK Credit Card business (including the Post Office credit cards and AA credit cards) to Jaja.
The Post Office now issue new credit cards issued and administered by Capital One.
However, as a 'new' Jaja (formerly Post Office) credit card customer, I agree the transition to Jaja has been a shambles.

Suggesting you flood a company with emails is going to make getting hold of them even worse as they go through lots of pointless emails taking even more time.

Trying to call them, as I had a refund on a flight which I want refunded to my bank account.
On hold for an hour so far, still haven't gotten through, not a great start....

Payment for my card due by 10th October, no Direct Debit taken yet...I'll give it until tomorrow with the date falling on a weekend but slightly worried!

Jaja have assumed all of Bank of Ireland's Post Office and AA Credit Card business including obligations under the existing Direct Debit guarantee so if the DD doesn't go through and they attempt to levy charges/interest for late payment you can challenge this and get them refunded, and/or initiate an FOS complaint if they're unresponsive or difficult about it. It's an added PITA to deal with, but you're protected.
