New York

Myself and a friend are hoping to go to New York for 5 nights later in the year (September most likely).

I have looked on expedia and last minute but including a nice hotel, the total price is over £900 per person which seems steep.

Can anyone offer me any tips?

Thanks

I should add that we live in Liverpool so Manchester would probably be departure airport.

Were going in August and its a real struggle getting a decent hotel at a reasonable price.
Flightwise if you go on BA's webby it gives prices for seven days either side of the dates you put in, and there can be big differences for no apparent reason
