Can't 16 year olds be added to the Electoral Register nowadays ?

This is a very good point. The OP should definitely ensure they are on the electoral roll before applying for any credit card.
Credit cards aside, it's also important to ensure you can vote!1 -
Yes, Scotland and Wales at the age of 14. They just cant vote in most/many things until they are 18. I would wait until you get your National Insurance number before registering. My daughter has been on the voting register since 16 but the CRA's cant validate her identity, so perhaps they ignore under 18 entries (she's only just turned 18 this month).NoodleDoodleMan said:Can't 16 year olds be added to the Electoral Register nowadays ?

I got my National Insurance Number when I was 16. I remember the NI Numbercards (plastic in those days) being handed out at school. I still have mine - it's gone a bit yellow, but is otherwise perfectjcontest said:

I still have mine too, though mine was a red and blue plastic card. Now I feel really old.....lol
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
Me too. It even had a magnetic strip on it like a bank card - I remember wondering where on Earth it would ever need to get 'swiped'...dr_adidas01 said:Fingerbobs said:
