This verification business is simply laughable. Setting up my SO to this new RS from my Santander account, I entered 'Royal Bank of Scotland PLC'. When I entered the sort code etc, THE ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND PLC appeared as the interpretation. But when I carried on my payee wasn't recognised. Thinking that the omission of THE and the capitals might be the problem, I amended the payee exactly as Santander had it. And that wasn't recognised either.0

The payee isn't 'Royal Bank of Scotland PLC' or 'THE ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND PLC' but yourselfschiff said:This verification business is simply laughable. Is anyone else still waiting for their new account to be visible on their app?
From the successful application I expected this to appear with 24hours.0 -
Were you not told at the end of the application that they would appear in online banking on weds? I was told that for both RBS and NatWest. Not sure why but I’m not expecting them to appear yet.veryintrigued said:Is anyone else still waiting for their new account to be visible on their app?

"Your DIGITAL REGULAR SAVER account will be ready to use tomorrow""Your standing order of £50.00 from your account, xxxxxxxx, sort code xx-x-xx every month starting on 28thSeptember2020 will be visible in Online Banking within two working days."1 -
Just to clarify something- we can only bung £50 a month in max with the standing order- to stop us all from popping a grand in then just £1 a month after that to maximise interest?
Proper n00b question, and I don't have a grand so it doesn't matter either way, but thought I'd still ask!

Both, RBS and Natwest are sending out confusing and conflicting information over when this account is usable.
Whenever we will be able to see the account, or be able to change/delete/replace the SO for it, it won't really matter because it is a matter of pennies.0 -
Did you read the T&Cs? Specifically, the term that talks about depositing more than £50 a month? How much are you hoping to gain by breaching the T&Cs?st182 said:Just to clarify something- we can only bung £50 a month in max with the standing order- to stop us all from popping a grand in then just £1 a month after that to maximise interest?
