  • OK, pretty definitive. Thank you very much.
  • Thanks for the responses to this question, I am in a similar situation. If someone could help me ensure my understanding is correct it would be greatly appreciated.

I have been temporary promoted and now earning significantly more per month. My credit cards look like:
CC1 - balance £1,400 of £3,500 limit, no offer in place or balance transfer offer.
CC2 - £2,516 of £6,400 limit, no offer in place but balance transfer offer of 0 fee, 12 months 0% interest free and 5% fee.
CC3 - £6,135 of £12,200 limit, no offer in place and no balance transfer offers
CC4 - paid off £1,800 balance today, limit of £2,750 and offer of 0 fee, 12 months interest free and 4% fee.

My plan was to transfer balance from CC2 to CC4 so I can get 12 months interest free. Once balance transferred then move balance from CC3 to CC2 to get 12 months interest free.
Overall picture would show significant reduction in total debt and utilisation however the 2 cards taking the balance transfer would be close to 100% utilisation.
Any advice welcome please, the debts have been built up since leaving marital home with nothing and setting up a new home. For info, while on temporary wage I can pay £750 a month towards debt. Will last a minimum of 3 months. Thank you

Just move as much as you can to the lowest rates. It won't change your overall indebtedness but will clear it faster.
