E: 23/09 Win a luxury break in the Lake District
Sunday Times Where Was I? competition
The prize:
The winner and guest will stay for two nights, B&B, at Askham Hall, a grade I listed, 13th-century pele tower at the bottom of one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District. Now a restaurant with rooms, it mixes a modern sense of luxury with beautifully embroidered fabrics and intriguing period details. The beating heart of the property is the Allium restaurant — overseen by the chef Richard Swale and awarded its first Michelin star last October. Drawing heavily on Cumbrian produce, as well as its vibrant kitchen garden, its menus have a powerful sense of place and season – and one five-course dinner for two (excluding drinks) is included in the prize. There’ll be plenty of opportunities to work up an appetite too. Big walks beckon at nearby Ullswater and on the fells above Haweswater to the south.
The prize must be taken between October 1 and December 23, 2020 or February 15 and March 31, 2021, subject to availability.
