  • Splitting your PBs into 2 accounts of £50k & £20k surely would not affect your chances of winning?
Every PB has the same chance of winning regardless of how you split them.
I agree, it's more a case of I've always thought PB's have a worth it amount and I'm not sure £20k is it, obviously it would be £70k in total, but in my head it's separate.
The money we may need in a few years time for a house move so we can't take any risks with it, but I also feel we should have a bit of variety with our money too.

Test that idea out on MSE's Premium Bond Calculator.
  • Average luck would see a return of £175 which looks better than anything we'd get on the high street.
And on £70k we could reasonably expect £625.

My Lloyds Regular Saver is going to drop to 0.5% this coming year.  I'm inclined to open one as it's fixed  I really can't believe the 1.2%  Coventry a/c I have will last through the year. Who'd have thought 0.5% looked attractive??
Where does it say that Lloyds are dropping the Monthly Saver rate to 0.5%? I’ve looked on the website and can’t see anything.

I'll check but I think I looked into the savings products menu from the Internet banking page. I'd love to be wrong. 😉

Delighted to say I must have looked up the wrong product. Just opened a new Club Lloyds monthly saver fixed at 1.5%.

    Many apologies for the error.

I had a Coventry Regular Saver (£500 per month max) that just matured. Was able to open another at 1.3%. Good while it lasts. 😉
