Container pear tree recommendations..?

Options
On my travels recently I've seen small pear trees growing successfully in patio containers and giving quite an impressive crop. Has anyone here been so lucky and maybe able to recommend a variety?

Dwarfing rootstock grown, I assume.

  • Ok, I get the idea - nobody here likes pears!
  • Lol, wish I could help you but... I don't like pears! 😹
Just my opinion, no offence 🐈
  • It's not the flesh but the skins I don't like and they're such a faff to peel for cooking. Then there's the whole ripening palaver.
Growing up we had a prolific pear whose fruit never ripened and wouldn't poach into edibility either so that put me off for a start and frankly my adult experience hasn't changed my mind.
I notice that both Delia and Nigella like them in chocolate puddings which do sound okayish but I'm not big on milky chocolate either so ........
