TUI Holiday Booking Error

Apologies if this isn't allowed...I have a trip booked for 2021 (booked in Jan 2020) and was aware of the outstanding balance back then. Covid struck and stores closed. I called the TUI call centre and after the call was emailed an amended booking confirmation which had a lower final balance on the booking and next and final payment date in 2021. The store have since been in touch asking for the higher amount and a payment in the coming weeks. I have asked for clarity and why this has happened. I have had a very conflicting email from the store manager with no acceptance of error on their part and again asking for the higher amount and another payment soon. Can anyone offer any advice on this?

They made an error, which they have now corrected. You are not out of pocket or in any sense disadvantaged. My advice is to pay as you originally agreed, if you want the holiday.

What total price did you agree to when you booked? If the amended booking confirmation showed a different total price, it was either a mistake or a genuine price change.  It sounds like you didn't query it (presumably because it was in your favour?) and it turns out to have been a mistake, which they're entitled to correct.

What's "conflicting" about the email from the manager?

Thanks all. Have queried it now hence my communication with them. Yes it would be to my advantage but email says that it’s one price which is correct but then goes onto say the price emailed was correct, all very confusing.

No need for confusion. Just go back to your original contract.  That will be the price you agreed to and which they have to uphold.
