LV Car Insurance Offer

Afternoon all,
I tried the LV car insurance offer (free £75 Amazon voucher for purchase of policy) posted on the car insurance section today. After following the link and buying my policy, there was nothing about the voucher in any of the documents sent through by LV. I contacted LV and they told me it was nothing to do with them and I would need to contact this website(even though the link takes you directly to the LV website and details of the voucher are posted on their site when following the link). I have had to cancel the policy. Their website is misleading at best...

Comments

  • How is their website misleading if it says nothing about the voucher and they say "nothing to do with us"?

Surely it's this website that's misleading (although I don't think it is as it doesn't say who is responsible for sending the voucher and it does say it'll take 120 days)?
  • The LV website does say about the voucher once it has been re-directed from this website. However, once the policy has been purchased there is no information about it in the docs sent and it was the LV customer service team who said nothing to do them when spoken to.

Maybe it is nothing to do with them? I've received cashback when changing energy provider via Cheap Energy Club and the cashback came from CEC, not the provider.  The website doesn't say LV are the ones who will be giving you the voucher so I still don't see how it's misleading.

Just to add that teh T&C's say
"14. LV= will share your email address with Optimise Media Ltd. in order to arrange payment of the Voucher. Any personal data provided to Optimise Media Ltd. by LV= will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation."

So LV indeed are not the ones who are sending you the voucher.
