Hi
I am looking at booking a last minute break to somewhere that currently do not have to quarantine from upon return with either Jet 2 or Tui.
I am looking at booking a last minute break to somewhere that currently do not have to quarantine from upon return with either Jet 2 or Tui.
Does anyone know what the companies views are if quarantine measures are brought in before leave UK. Can u amend booking/cancel or are u left out of pocket?
Tui has guidelines in their website and think they do consider this but can’t see anything from Jet 2. Any personal experience would be great.
Thanks

This is what makes me and countless others confused.
Vast numbers of the population are facing tougher lockdowns which will only spread across the country in the next 2-3 weeks
I can't have anyone from outside my household in my house and/or garden
But, I can go to a pub/restaurant - but not after 10pm
And people are still wanting to/free to travel abroad
In answer to your question - it will depend on the T&Cs of your booking, generally:
If YOU cancel - then no refund
If THEY cancel - you should get a refund
Changes/amendments are variable - check/ask, DONT assume anything
Make sure you have suitable/adequate insurance before you book0 -
easyJet allow you to make a change or get a voucher if a country is removed from the safe to travel list.0

Turkey is an obvious candidate and there a few others not subject to any restrictions in or out.0 -
Both Tui and Jet2 cancel all holidays if FCO advice against travel comes in.
Quarantine is a different story. Ie Tui and Jet2 will not cancel holidays from Scotland or Wales where you have to Quarantine but there is no FCO advice against travel.0 -
Well I have just booked a short break with BA in December going from Edinburgh to Venice via London Heathrow as i need some cigarettes. Normally I go to Luxembourg but that is currently on the FCO "Naughty list". It may well be off by December but were it not to be although I could cancel the Holiday I would only be entitled to a refund in the form of a Voucher.
Italy on the other hand is currently not on the FCO hit list at the time of booking. Were that to change between now and the departure date as I have booked a package holiday a full refund in cash would be on the cards as part of BA's future booking guarantee. you have to be devious to work out all the permutations.
It is important I make this journey before the end of December as that's when the "Duty Free" when going to Europe may return. At the moment you can bring back as many as you like legally provided you have paid the applicable rate of duty in the country of purchase. 200 would be of no use to me even at a cheaper price.
Absolute steal just north of £300 for Business Class Flights ( four in total) and 2 Nights Hotel B&B. I have a BA Voucher for £150 so that's all it will cost me in new cash.0 -
I would just assume that you should quarantine when arriving back in the UK no matter what.
Safer at the moment to plan for the worst case scenario.0 -
