I bought some resistance bands online (thick piece of elastic used in workouts) in two different grades (medium and heavy) so I could see which ones I needed, with a view to returning the ones that weren't right for me. I carefully unpacked the items, stretched them between my hands and repacked the ones I didn't want with a view to returning them. They are as new. The company says they do not accept returns unless an item has been incorrectly delivered. I've contacted them and they just keep saying that they don't take returns (one time quoted 'But in the current situation and the epidemic due to hygiene reasons. We are unable to refund any items.'). This can't be right!
Any thoughts about how I can return my items and receive a refund?
Many thanks.

Their concerns over the Covid pandemic does not overwrite your statutory rights. You are entitled to cancel and return them under the terms of the Consumer Contract Regulations (CCRs).

...assuming the retailer is in the UK.

The nature of the product may prove a hygiene risk once unsealed? They are workout items and sweat and other bodily fluids could contaminate them, would you want a returned set?
I suppose they could claim it's exempt and would take a court to say otherwise.

A link to the company and product would see what the company say about them.

I have such a low opinion of freecycle and the entitled clientele it seems to attract.  I now refuse to use it, I would prefer to dump something than waste my valuable time waiting for no shows and listening to sob stories.

Great, but what's that got to do with this thread?

    Which one are your keeping?
If its the medium, I would keep the heavy one as you will soon need that one.

I guess we all make one mistake a year - that was mine, about 8 months overdue
