Bossworld said:Went back into branch and it's just ping-ponged between NS&I and Halifax. Looks like it's down to NS&I to re-request the transfer.
Just hoping that it'll be easier to shift it elsewhere in the future.
Covid or not, this is an excruciating process I wish I'd never started.0 -
Hello I could really do with some help... I'm about to have my 3rd child... 2 are 8 already... I would really like to knuckle down and save for their futures, so when they are all 18 they all have a lump sum of cash to help them start... There is so many different ISA and saving and rates etc... I don't know where to start... And heard of the savings ladder too... All I know is I can put back 100 away each month maybe more, and would like to know how I can maximise this over the next 10 - 18 years
if anyone has an insight I would be very appreciative thankyou0 -
Updating my post, NS&I have 'attempted' to call me three times - each time hanging up after one ring, or this afternoon, when I managed to hit answer, they didn't connect the call.
Seemingly, 3+ months transfer time is 'normal'.
Still waiting on someone to actually address my complaint but when this gets resolved I'll be moving elsewhere.1 -

How about opening an ISA for yourself with Vanguard and investing your £100 a month into one of the Life strategy funds?

Do your children have JISAs?
If they receive cash for birthdays etc, they could build up a lump sum for use at age 18.
At the moment, Coventry BS offers the best rate for cash.
