Do I need Domain Privacy & Protection?

Hi everyone
Just starting my first business and buying a domain name for the website. I am being offered Domain Privacy and Protection (for a higher price than the domain itself).
Is this important? Do I need it? Or is it just a way for the seller to make some money?
Thank you for your thoughts.

Do you want security on your website?
If yes, this will do it.
If no, I will soon be around to hack it.
Does that answer your question?1 -

I would disagree with this statement. In my view it offers no additional technical protection to your website. If I am wrong, please do let me know how it provides additional security.Do you want security on your website?

What it will do, is prevent your personal data being displayed in the public WHOIS record, a bit like being ex-directory in the phone books BT used to print. https://blog.tbwhs.com/domain-privacy-protection/1 -
And what exactly will you "hack"? The security of a registrant's website has nothing to do with whether or not the registrant has paid for "Domain Privacy and Protection".If no, I will soon be around to hack it.

Is not just selling an option to hide their name/address which as a business they should not be doing and
one thing i do check for when buying stuff online.
If your a business and hide your address then i assume you have something to hide and buy elsewhere.
