EasyJet won’t refund cancelled flights

Hi could someone offer some advice regarding the following situation.
Had flights to Spain from Newcastle booked through easyJet for June. Due to covid lockdown these were cancelled and they recommended transferring to another date. Transferred the flight to November to again fly to Spain From Newcastle. They have now cancelled this flight and pulled out of Newcastle altogether. Have now had to book with Ryanair as they fly from Newcastle and requested a refund from easyJet but they say they will not refund and can only offer a credit note which can be used in the next 12 months.
Can they do this?
Many thanks for any advice.

No you are legally entitled to a refund under EU regulation 261/04. Ask them again mentioning that regulation and if you don't get anywhere then look at a chargeback/S75 claim with your card provider on the basis that you paid for a service which isn't being provided.0

They are sneaky as they show 4 options for a cancelled flight vouchers, but then in the paragraph below in smaller letters there is a Refund Request Webform link0

I also need some advice re-Easyjet refusing to refund cancelled flights. We booked 2 flights at the same time one flying out to Seville and another coming back from Malaga, booked at the same time for the same holiday. They only cancelled the outbound flight and refunded us. I thought under regulation 261/2004 we are also due a refund for the other flight but they're refusing as they say it's from a different airport. they had given us 2 different booking references fro each flight. Can anyone please advise if this is right as I thought under the EU regulation it didn't matter if you were coming and going from different airports.thank you0

Did you book them at Easyjet.com? I just tried to do Manchester to Amsterdam out and Amsterdam to Luton back on the Easyjet website and it wouldn't let me add a return flight using a different airport prior to the checkout page and when I went back to the start and added Amsterdam to Luton to the basket it removed Manchester to Amsterdam from the basket. Their website isn't set up like KLM's which allows you to book a multi-city trip in one go.arlie said:I also need some advice re-Easyjet refusing to refund cancelled flights. If you mean you booked one and then 5 minutes later you booked another then I'm not sure the EU reg covers that. ATOL protection does extend to where you pay for different services from the same provider in multiple transactions in a 24 hour period but it doesn't sound like you booked a package.0
