Contrary to recent postings I’m posting to say well done. My flight of 8th october to Vancouver with BA was finally cancelled on wednesday the 16th. I rang the number specified in the email notifying and after a 10 minute wait spoke to a helpful operative who did ask me if I wanted a voucher. I firmly said no and asked for a refund. She agreed and just asked for card details and a few security questions and then said done.

10 minutes later I had an email confirming the refund and the money landed back on my credit card today 18th. 👌Amex will take 10 days to get the money back to my bank they tell me.

heartened by this I emailed the rocky mountaineer train operators asking for a refund Of deposit paid. We were due to go across the Rockies but they had cancelled all trips for this year a month ago. The original booking was non refundable so I was a bit apprehensive as they were Canadian based.

I had a pleasant email back acknowledging my request the next day then 6 hours later an email confirming a full refund being processed.  So well done again. Just waiting for money to appear on my card.

Now just need to figure out when (if) we try again next year.😎
