    Update from this..
We received a letter today and went to the JC and they said it was genuine. However, I am still unconvinced it is as the letter is littered with mistakes and mispellings and as stated before they have pushed everything back to six months.
What the lady at JC said was that they see her deemed fit for for work, She`s put a appeal in and we see how it goes.
PIP is nothing to do with being fit for work. Is she also claiming ESA or UC? Either way no decision will have been made without an assessment (although a paper-based assessment is not impossible) and before an assessment she would have had to fill in and send off a form. UC don't send paper letters though, ESA do.

This really sounds like you and she need some help to pin down exactly what she claims, and maybe an experienced eye to look over the letter she has received. Is there a Citizens Advice Bureau anywhere near you?

I'm not sure what you mean by "pushed everything back to 6 months" your question orginally was to do with PIP but now you're talking about being fit for work, which isn't to do with PIP.

I agree with above... I think you need someone to get an understanding of the benefit circumstances. There seems to be much confusion and I think there is risk of getting inappropriate advice here based on you providing information that is not accurate. Is CAB an option?

  • All sounds a bit weird to me. You need to sort out what it is your letter is about because you seem to be confusing benefits, you can work and be awarded PIP.
