I had a booking for a three night hotel stay booked for last weekend, which I had arranged in January of this year. In June flagged up that I would like to cancel this, booking disappeared from account etc. However today I have received a refund in the form of a voucher code. Should I be happy that I've received this? As I'd ideally like the cash refund back, but thinking in the scheme of things this isn't too bad.

  • If the hotel was open and available, then it seems you have done rather well as it was you who chose to cancel three months in advance of the booking. On the other hand, if the hotel is still closed, it seems right you should get a full refund as the booking could not be fulfilled.

I wouldn't celebrate to quickly, wait until you see if the voucher works.
