Hi
Me & my husband booked a short break in the centre of Newcastle for the beginning of October. Today it's been announced that they are reimposing some of the lock down restrictions because the number of covid cases in the area are increasing. So I'm now debating what to do if the restrictions are still in place then.
I can change the hotel booking if I need to but I think they will remain open.
What I'm not sure about is the bars & restaurants and whether they will remain open with a 10pm curfew.
Any advice or knowledge of what's going on in Newcastle in relation to all of this ?
Cheers
Jenny

Restaurants arent going to decide to just shut completely if they cant stay open past 10pm, the bulk of most restaurants trade is before 10pm.
In any case I dont think really anyone can help, I suspect things may actually change again in the next 2 weeks.0 -
When is the last day you can cancel/change your hotel booking? I would wait until a day or two before that to decide whether to go. Could you book somewhere else instead?
I know how you feel as I have a hotel booked in 2 weeks time and I'm worried my area is going to go into lockdown, I'm confident the Cotswolds won't go into lockdown though! My free cancellation is on the Thursday and I leave on the Saturday, so I'm hoping they don't give less than a couple of days notice for lockdown!0 -
Hotels will remain open if it isn't a complete lockdown and people are allowed to travel in and move about the town.
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

Thanks everyone
In the end I moved the booking to May next year.
I did understand that the hotel etc would be open but with all the goings on I didn't think it would be much fun
Cheers
