Level Card 29.9

  • I decided against the card because they appear to charge interest from day one and they don't report to CRAs. No CRA reporting is not going to help rebuild a credit history.
  • No wonder it's 100% pre-approval, just milk people for cash. Why on earth would anyone take this out? Unless they rely on people not bothering to read the terms AND not clocking they are paying interest

Exactly. People that are desperate tend to not look too deeply.
Very much like the ones that go to 3rd party sites looking for loans and fail to notice the charge these companies make for their introductions, even if you do not get accepted. Or sign you up to one of the paid credit ref co's.

It’s 100 percent scam. It doesn’t work in many places (I have written proof of this) I took it out but everything I tried it for it didn’t work- they admitted it ‘doesn’t work everywhere’ and then they said I may have been trying to use it on a ‘dodgy’ website. I was trying to buy a rugby shirt and the website wasn’t dodgy- my Capital One card worked fine on there.
They suggested I ‘take out cash and use it pay for the goods I was trying to pay for’ to which I asked how was I supposed to do that online and they shouldn’t be telling people to withdraw cash on a credit card anyway. The account was only open a few days. The person I spoke to sounded very resigned so I think I was one of many.
I would say avoid it like the plague.

I think I remember reading this on Trustpilot.
    Definitely a card to avoid!
  • Oh it's great to see all of these positive comments about this card.

I came a searching as I've just been pre-approved for this via Clear Score, too.

I've gone through with the application and once the card arrives, I'll email Level to let them know :-

"I'll start using the card once you alter the terms to include a 56 day interest free period on purchases and when I can see it on all three of my credit files, until then, it stays in its envelope"

    Good luck mser's
Since my original post, I have never experienced such Increase in positive Credit Reports.
Though currently posting to Redundancy Board.
My Amazon Card arrived past few days, that's 2 Cards with decent Limits, when I'm at a time I cannot uses either for 3 Mths 0% Purchases until I find work, hopefully soon.
I've exhausted Credit Card Apps, though one or 2 Zero Balances to Close.

What is showing as positive on your credit reports? Have your late, missed payments and defaults reached 6 years old so dropped off?
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Thanks though I've not quite repaid dmp in full as yet, final defaults have dropped off.
No missed payments 6 years from any unsecured lending/dmp.
going very well and due to finish late 21' though intending to complete a month or two sooner.
2021 was beginning of acceptance for 'mainstream' cards eligibility and Amazon/RBS cards accepted.
