Fluid credit card "cash withdrawal" charges

in Credit cards
I recently obtained a "Fluid" credit card. I had previously used either another credit card or my bank debit card for various payments. I use Lotto Social to make occasional payments for Lotto tickets. I have found that if I use the Fluid card to make small payments to Lotto Social (although I am not making a cash withdrawal) I am charged a £3 "cash withdrawal" fee. This does not happen on my other "Vanquis" credit card. Anyone had a similar experience with Fluid or other credit cards?

Yes, it's normal on most cards for gambling to be treated as cash.0

A cash advance fee is a charge which is added when a cash transaction is made on a credit card. However, it’s not just limited to cash withdrawals, and can also apply to gambling and foreign currency exchanges. Lottery is deemed as gambling.
However from April 2020, you shouldn't be able to use a credit card to make the purchase. https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/news-action-and-statistics/news/2020/Gambling-on-credit-cards-to-be-banned-from-April-2020.aspx0 -
I believe the National Lotto was exempt from this law but in any case had decided that you cannot purchase tickets with a credit card direct.
I use my Barclaycard to buy my lotto tickets and other shopping weekly and have never been charged.0
