How to bulk buy energy through MSE Energy Club?

Hi all - I have joined the MSE Energy Club & registered for the "Switch Alerts", but I thought there was a bulk buy options where members negotiate a lower price with suppliers? How does this work please? - I can't see any information. My friend says he got a good deal via the club. I am with SO Energy 2.2p KwH for Gas & 14.2 pence/KwH for Elec.
Grateful for help & comments.
Thanks in advance,
Nick

Are you thinking you and your friends can get together and get a special rate ? Sorry no.

Occassionally MSE has "special" deals but even so there may be better options on the Citizens Advice or Which? sites. And remember seperate fuels is better than dual fuel.

Those rates aren't especially exciting, but they're meaningless without knowing the standing charges.  It's the total annual cost of your usage that matters, not the prices of the bits that make it up.
  • A few years ago (pre 2016) , MSE and various other sites such as Energy Helpline, used to come up with "exclusive" switch offers which were generally pretty good. However ,that was before the mass proliferation of various small suppliers who undercut the Big6 by a lot. Personally I haven't seen a worthwhile collective switch for more than 3 years.

Looks like a typical dual fuel tariff,  great for one fuel (gas) whilst bad for the other (electricity). Separate suppliers leads to better deals.
