Bank Switch (23/9) Will my DD on old account go through on the 22/9?

Bit of a random one - before you ask I've called RBS who were not particularly helpful at all...
I've applied to switch my current account from to RBS - the switch date is the 23/9.
I have a Direct Debit due to come out of the old account on the 22/9.
Which account will this DD come out of? Should I have enough money in both banks, just in case, or will it somehow get lost in the ether?
I'm fairly sure that I told RBS to START the switch on the 23/9 not finish it then, but here we are - the switch has started and I don't think there's much I can do about it now!
Cheers,

Direct debits are originated at least 10 days in advance. Too late to cancel it.0

I've never had an option to select a start date when using CASS, only ever a completion date. That said, your DD should most likely be taken from your old account as the switch won't be complete by 22Sep. I'd keep money in both accounts to be safe personally, unless it's a massive amount where that's not particularly feasible.0

The money stays in your old account until the day of the switch. Any DD's due before that day will come out of old account. Ones due on the day and after come out of the new.
If your using the switching service to switch they will have this all covered. If it goes wrong (it shouldn't) you are covered for any missed/late payments.
Just make sure there is enough money in your old account to cover all due outgoings and it should be fine.
P.S The date you give them is the date of switching to end, not start.1 -
Thanks for the reassurance all - must have read it wrong when I was selecting the date for the switch 🤦♀️I am using the switching service so I thought it would all be covered in the old account but the lady I spoke to on the switching team confused me when she said oh you’ll need to speak to the people who the DD is with.... which made me worried for a minute as I obviously don’t want the DD to bounce back and end up with a black mark for missed payment! The text they sent me today also says make sure there’s enough money in the account to cover outgoings and didn’t specify which account !0

They mean your old one 😉 Fingers crossed you have no trouble with the switch 🤞1

The switch service will move the balance on the 23rd anyway.Life in the slow lane1
