Which is the best High Street bank?

I'm looking to get another personal current account and am wondering which banks are the best. For me, the most important things are: online banking, customer service, and the ability to cash occasional foreign cheques. Most of the major banks have mixed reviews online, so I'm hoping some first-hand accounts will be helpful:)
