That's irrelevant to the issue of ownership. You said the finance is in his name (solely). So, they didn't buy a car-he did.kevjamsadkim said:unfortunately she is on the log book and it is insured for her to drive.
The name on the V5C simply confirms who the registered keeper is-not the owner. He is currently allowing her to 'borrow' the car. Once he rescinds that, then, if she does not return it, it's theft.

I'm sure she does, unfortunately that deal is not on offer, she doesn't have any choice.kevjamsadkim said:he does still have contact however she wants the car without paying for it.No free lunch, and no free laptop

It says in big at the top of the front page of the V5 that "THIS DOCUMENT IS NOT PROOF OF OWNERSHIP".

I got car 6 months ago on pcp. When I test drive it is gas a really strong smoke smell. I raised it as a concern before I bought it and was assured they’d sort it. They had it back 4 times now and it’s no better. Can I refuse the car and not be out if pocket? Bearing in mind I’ve been oayinging finance fir 6 months, a full service, numerous valets to try to deal with the smell.Any advice appreciated before I approach them. I don’t just want to do a part ex as I end up losing !0

Exact dates and timeline?
Make, model, age, condition and mileage of the car purchased.?
How much did the car cost?
How did you pay for the car?
I assume a dealer sold you the car?
Ultimately, why did you buy this car given the issues noted on test drive?0
