O/S Daily Wednesday 16 September 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now getting light, dry and another reasonable day forecast.
DH up and gone to work stupid stupid early,I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS1 still in his pit. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was lasagne - still half left, so portioned up and in the fridge - DS1 will have one portion for lunch, the other 2 will go in the freezer. I remembered to get the chicken out to defrost - this may become a chicken and mushroom in a sauce with HM egg and veg fried rice meal for tonight.
Work yesterday was steady again - my last day this week then off until Monday. I have some chores I want to get done.
Keep safe and well x

Morning Chums
Showery this morning but not cold, there's a stiff breeze blowing too. After yesterday morning's rain it turned into a lovely afternoon, DD and I sat out at a cafe and had something to eat, lovely chat and a chance to catch up which isn't always easy with the little one.
Little Sophie is up and walking now and is full of fun. Her hair is growing so fast and is still as white as snow.
I'm hoping someone comes for this bike this evening, I have the money and the bike and it's been over a week now waiting for someone with a bigger car to call.
Right, off to work, have a good day everyone. Take care. XX11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. No sun this morning but at least it's dry so no complaints. It's not going to reach 25 deg today sadly - it's down to about 17 deg for us.
It's bus ride day today for me and best buddy. We thought we would try Ilkley today for a change as we haven't been since pre-Covid. It should still be pleasant enough to have lunch al fresco so we are not breaking any local lockdown rules. I can't see us coming out of the lockdown on Friday either as the numbers don't seem to be coming down.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Take care one and all and stay safe xx ps I am getting concerned at lack of news from MM. It must be a week since her op. Or have I missed a post? x

Morning all Well that was a hot one yesterday and last night still we seem to have a bit of a breeze this morning will take the dog after i have had my cuppa and DS is home as he is on his motorbike i like to make sure he is home safe . DD2 rang last night she won't be coming at the weekend as SILto be may have covid so will be going for a test today as he is in the army he should be able to get a priority one she said his temp was very high and he has a cough so not good she slept in the spare room last night and i have spoken to her this morning so she is ok at the moment.
Today i might venture to the shops but i really can't be bothered but the fridge is bare and even though i haven't been normal shopping for a fortnight just bread milk and veg my freezer is still pretty full . I started to clean my slated wood blinds yesterday so will finish that job today other than that life just rolls on in its usual boring way . Right enough waffle have a great day whatever you are up to xx

Morning everyone
Just having breakfast then I'm at work all day. Beautiful day yesterday but dull grey cloud this morning and meant to be down to 13 degrees.
Saw my dentist yesterday and I'm now 'in the system' and have to wait for a phone call to make an appointment.
I have a doctors appointment after work - my first one since the beginning of the year. Exciting stuff!
Oh, it's raining now - annoying when I'm going to work on my bike - I'll have to pedal fast!
Hope you all have a good day11 -
Morning all.Another dull start to the day. We still have the local restrictions in place though it doesn't make too much difference here apart from postponing the curtain hanging until next week. The cleaner is coming today, a day early, as she has a funeral of an ex-neighbour to attend tomorrow. I'll take the opportunity to visit the beautiful patisserie shop. Although DM is addicted to cherry pie I like to offer something different and more special at least a couple of times a week. Once on a Saturday when her friend is here and one other time. Then there's a pile of paperwork to scan and then shred and a spreadsheet to fiddle with!Happy Wednesday to everyone.12

Morning everyone and thank you for starting today's thread nmlc.
Another lovely sunny morning, we are back to lockdown here so I'm glad of the sunshine, otherwise it would be dreary - well it will be soon. I got through more garden jobs yesterday but there is always something more to do. I still have the final stage of flattening the last anthill to do, might hang on for a cool day for that though, it is hot work.
Hope everyone has a good day today.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back13 -
I'm back with you! Change of plan here as DF texted just after my earlier post to cancel our outing today as she has been up through the night with griping tummy pains and the runs. Needless to say she feels safer staying at home. So for a bit of excitement I have brought bed change day forward to today instead of tomorrow! The wm is chugging away as I speak but I am undecided about pegging out as it's looking very gloomy out there, despite a dry day forecast! I don't think I trust that forecast Do I peg out or don't I? Decisions decisions! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12

Morning all
Its a bit overcast here atm but meant to be sunny and up to 25 deg later fingers crossed it is, we took the pups to the beach at 7.30 yesterday evening it was lovely and so warm, there was a young couple on the beach having a date with a blanket and a picnic and a bottle of fizz the sun was setting it looked so romantic !! we stayed till the sun went down and by the time we got home (a five minute car ride) it was pitch black, the dogs loved it though and were flaked out all evening.
Onto today I have a wash on the go and will hang it out, I need to hoover through because the pups dropped sand everywhere and I have a delivery coming from Mr M today its my first time using them so I hope its ok, I bought a bottle of whisky for a Christmas present as this particular one is normally £33 and was on offer for £23 so that will go in my present stash.
Dinner will be something with chicken might have a look for a new recipe later.
Have good days all xx11 -
Morning all,Shame about your trip out TA but I'll join in with bed change day too...in a bit! Will just drink my cuppa whilst browsing first. Its cooler here too, still blue skies though. I have noticed how much earlier it seems to be getting dark thoughTea last night was soon sorted, just egg, bacon and left over fried new potatoes. It made a change for us all to have the same, usually have to cater for DS2s allergies. Not sure tonight as DGC will be here, I have to pick up DGD, and DS & DH will get DGS as they are working close by.My new bird table is full of activity with small birds, this morning, not seen Woody woodpigeon today which is unusual. Eating me out of house and home they are, better order some more foodRight enough waffle, hope you all have a good day & MM is recovering ok x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all.
I've just read through yesterday's thread to see what I said yesterday, I don't like to repeat myself too much. It appears that I didn't say anything at all yesterday. I'm really losing it. I could have sworn that I'd posted. Ah well.
Sorry about the cancelled outing TA. I bet you'll thoroughly enjoy changing the bed! At least it will be done and not looming over you for tomorrow.
We had a lovely warm, sunny day yesterday, and looks similar today. Apart from making some mint and apple jelly I can't remember doing anything useful. So my house looks like a disaster area. I've climbed into some old comfy clothes, rolled up my sleeves and am preparing to do battle. Bin bags, dusters, and vacuum are standing to attention ready for action. It only remains for me to stop playing on here and get going.
Here goes.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
My housekeeping style can best be described as - "there seems to have been a struggle."I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.13
