AXA sold their life & pensions book to Friends Provident which in turn was bought by Aviva. They sold their investment platform (and SIPP) to Standard Life.
Legal & General have just sold their historic life and pensions book to ReAssure.
Are you sure you are contacting the right companies?I am very angry with them as I think they have pocketed the pension money I had put in.You think wrong. You should also be angry with yourself for not retaining records.

It has been some years since I contacted them

indicates that you should contact Aviva.
AXA is now administered by Aviva.

OP do you have any paperwork relevant to the original pensions when you were contributing? If so, they should give a reference number for them and hopefully details of the company you were originally with. With those details maybe the link here would help

In 2015 I was diagnosed with Terminal Cancer so I contacted my pensions provider which is the NHS so I took out £25,000 from my £247,000 pension pot, but the drawback was having to pay a £167,000 Tax Bill. Well at the time I didn't care as I was getting prepared to die. However, I had a last scan at the RUH in Bath and guess what no cancer.I immediately contacted NHS Pensions but they said sorry too late and not my pension pays out a tiny amount and I'm having to work now till I'm al least 77
Can I get this money back from the Tax man as the NHS have said it is their call but all attempts so far have failed as they never return my call or letters0 -

You should create a new thread with your question on it as it as your questions have no relevance to the topic of this thread. Plus, it is considered rude to "hijack" someone else's thread. Copy and paste your post again into a new thread and I can guarantee it will get responses. You may also want to verify the figures as you don't pay £167,000 tax on a £25,0000 withdrawal from a pension.
