What are my rights when an two day in-person conference becomes an online event?

Last year I attended an in-person social media marketing event and it was so good, I bought an early bird ticket to this year's back in November. Now it's been moved online and no offer of a refund or ticket price reduction - even though in theory the organiser can actually sell more tickets and has fewer overheads. Friends have been refused refunds as the organiser says they were sold as "non-refundable". What are our rights? I don't want to sit online for two solid days - this is not at all what I paid for.

This isn't a consumer issue (or at least I can't see a reason why a consumer would be going to an event like this).
It will therefore be to the terms of what the contract says. If the contract states that it will be held at a certain event at a certain date, there may be an argument for a refund. If the contract states that the location or dates may change, then there will not be.💙💛 💔0
