I booked flights with Travelgenio to Orlando back in February. The flights are in October and B.A have confirmed they have been cancelled. I can’t find a phone number but I have found an email, they are wanting £30 per person (6 people) to cancel our flight and refund. I called B.A and they have confirmed there should be no charge and we should get a full refund, I have sent other messages and I have not had a reply any help would be appreciated?

BA will indeed refund their customer in full. Their customer is Travelgenio. Travelgenio will have service fees for the work to process the refund (they don't work for free) You would need to check the terms and conditions to see what you agreed to (I thought Travelgenio was £75 fee so maybe they have reduced it)Scorpio5555 said:I called B.A and they have confirmed there should be no charge and we should get a full refund, I have sent other messages and I have not had a reply any help would be appreciated?
In future you can avoid third party fees by booking direct with the airline? (I don't believe any third parties don't have service/admin fees) - how much did you save by adding a poor middleman into the mix? (if you look at the Air Travel forum on trip advisor I believe there are over 20,000 complaints / warnings about them)0 -
By doing a chargeback if eligible, they then have no opportunity to "take a slice"Caz3121 said:

How will that be successful if the OP agreed to the Travelgenio t&c’s and the service fees?Butts said:

As I said I spoke to B.A and they said charging £30 per person admin fee was unlawful so I don’t see how they can get away with this, the flight is cancelled so it should be a full refund.Westin said:

Because the money comes directly from the vendors bank based upon what you paid.Westin said:

With my chargeback against LM.com they have spurious fees but a chargeback bypasses them ensuring they are unable to extract any unwarranted fees.0 -
I wish I knew about all those complaints at the time of booking, I was forwarded onto them through Skyscanner, you would hope that Skyscanner would take the complaints more seriously before they send you to these travel agents.Caz3121 said:

Didn't Sky Scanner give an option to book direct through BA ?Scorpio5555 said:

It is normally one of the options amongst all the aggregators.0 -
I don't think they are particularly highly rated on skyscanner either (from memory they show them as 3 out of 5) Comparison sites don't limit the results to the airlines only and, there are many poor third parties that appear in the results. It is down to the consumer to do the research first before deciding which option to select (they don't send you anywhere, they show you a list of options) - unfortunately many just click the cheapest0

From memory they did but they where a few hundred more and as there was 6 going it added upto a fair amount as it was our first holiday to Florida. I have now learned to book directly with B.A for the future. I was wondering if anyone else had problems with Travelgenio?Butts said:

Yeah I am guilty of clicking on the cheapest but with 6 tickets and our first family holiday to Florida i was trying to make the budget stretch to park tickets, etc. I will book directly with B.A from now on, it’s just frustrating trying to get through to some of these companies.Caz3121 said:I don't think they are particularly highly rated on skyscanner either (from memory they show them as 3 out of 5) Comparison sites don't limit the results to the airlines only and, there are many poor third parties that appear in the results.
