Electric Back Bill

  • Does the new final bill take into account your past payments?  They haven't just lost all record that you paid them anything?

They have listed payment figures I've made but not against any readings/breakdowns.

Hmmm - Just wondering if the cause of this mare's nest, is that EDF now think the Day/Night readings were billed the wrong way round.
As Gerry1 advises, WRITE a letter headed Complaint demanding detailed paperwork to justify the demand, and post it via Royal mail with a Free certificate of posting.

Further to your advice above, EDF have asked me to arrange a commitment plan with them regarding the payment of this bill. Do I agree to this now and put payment plan in place or wait for complaint to be looked at (how long would this normally take?) ? please advise.

Don't agree anything until you have established what you owe, if anything.
If the opening and closing reads are correct then that should be straightforward enough. You just need to reconcile it vs. your bank statements as to what has been paid.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
