we bought tickets to a music festival we usually go to back in November 2019, the event was scheduled for June 2020. We booked flights and accommodation separately.
The event tickets were bought through ticketmaster but as it is abroad it was the belgium extension of the ticketmaster website.
The event was postponed to June 2021 because of Covid. We have waited till now for them to give us our options.
We are not comfortable committing to going next year at this stage. A refund request form is available but the rules stipulate that we have to provide evidence of why we can't go specifically they mention a confirmed medical procedure, a pre-booked holiday or a planned wedding.
We don't have any of that evidence other than my husband has asthma, we just don't want to commit to going anywhere abroad. We have a full refund from the flights and accommodation already but don't know how to proceed with this ticket refund request. This is a lot of money to us (£1500) and we don't want to lose it.
Can anyone help?

If it’s disinclination to attend then I fear they may very well say they don’t have to refund on that basis. The key point might also be of it was brought through the Belgium arm of things then I’m sure ( though very happy to be corrected otherwise) that it’s their consumer/contract law that will apply. How did you pay for the tickets?0

We paid online using PayPal unfortunately.0

I feel your a little bit stuck, as mentioned it might be a case where your bound by Belgian consumer law, depends on the contract between you and the other party.
I wonder if you could pit the tickets into another name, if you can then maybe see if you could sell the tickets, you might make a loss but something to investigate.0 -
Have to agree Losh. Very difficult to get a refund from abroad if they are insisting on giving you tickets. Can't you invent a 'wedding'? bahaha. What do they want as proof? To see the wedding certificate? I agree £1500 is a lot of money (must be some festival
) and nobody would want to risk 'losing' it but as it has been paid out you won't miss it just now so if they continue to refuse to refund sit tight, you may just feel differently next year OR it might be postponed again....
oh don't think about that just now!
