Can you generate wealth whilst making a genuine impact? This is what I ask myself all the time and I finally did some researching. Clim8 Invest a new FinTech player, seems set on disrupting the sustainable investing market - https://good-with-money.com/2020/09/14/how-sustainable-investing-won-hearts-and-minds-a-short-history/

Despite crowdfunding and being 'set on disrupting' the market, they haven't actually released an investment product yet so there is very limited 'research' you can do on it. As soon as they do (if they do), it will be a scramble to get enough investor money to be able to invest it profitably - as investing small amounts of capital and providing customer service to people willing to 'give them a try' is very inefficient.
So as you would expect, they are doing the circuit of blogs, press releases etc etc to drum up interest while being light on detail. The article you linked concludes that ESG investing is great, "In the history of investment, there has never been this amount of opportunity to profit from making a positive difference ....It’s a great moment – take advantage!" without any word about what they are going to do differently from the options already there, other than perhaps a vague reference to funnelling your savings into issues you care about.
They need as much cash as they can get, so would not turn you away if you came along with a pile of money to invest, but are trying to engineer some 'fake scarcity' with a referral programme to try to create a buzz and some FOMO, and get people sharing 'referral links' which just represent a referral to receive the honour of a place in the queue and maybe you get 'bumped up the queue' if you find other people to join it. They need to be able to launch with a bunch of keen people all tee'd up to invest, so that the time lag between providing services and receiving management fee income isn't too financially crippling - which would happen if they launched the product before they'd built their army of followers.1 -
