easyJet voucher refund?

I had flights to go abroad back in July. I received an email from easyJet on the 12th June stating that "We haven't currently cancelled your flight but we do understand that you might be thinking about whether to travel". I wasn't going to travel because of COVID and the offer of vouchers in the current situation sounded like a good idea. This offer was valid until the 23rd June and I accepted as I didn't want to lose out.
Fast forward to the 23rd June and I received another email stating that the flight had been cancelled and they were now offering vouchers AND refunds. I asked for a refund but they said that wouldn't be possible as i had already accepted the vouchers. Does anyone feel this was unethical business practice as easyJet were withholding information about the flight being cancelled to try and hold onto money from customers by giving them vouchers first? i think It's now crystal clear that they were always going to cancel if they decided to offer refunds the day the voucher offer ended
The vouchers expire in September 2021 but who knows what the situation around COVID might be around that time. also, I did pay by credit card.
Can i go through my Credit Card company for a refund or what are my options?
Any help would be grateful.
Thanks

Your card company won't be able to assist - as you recognise, you accepted the offer of a voucher and, regardless of views about ethics, that ultimately satisfies the airline's obligations to you, which would be the stance adopted by your card company or your insurer.1
