Oven cleaning

I have just bought a new house and the oven is very dirty, I imagine it has not been cleaned for years.
I have used the usual products of Mr Muscle, Cillit Bang, soda and vinegar, steam cleaner to get rid of around 50% of the grime.
The rest which is years of baked on grease is just not budging.
I have found a few companies who claim to clean ovens to an almost new standard. Does anyone know what product's they use?

I use Oven Pride. Beats any of the other off the shelf chemicals.
Signature on holiday for two weeks4 -
Just get the Oven Pride or Oven Mate cleaning kits, I prefer the latter. The kits should come with a bag for the oven racks which you put into with some cleaning solution and leave overnight and some some oven cleaner which you brush on and again leave for as long as you can, preferably overnight. When the cleaner has done it's thing you simply wipe away all the muck. Dead easy.
A good tip is to remove the door so you get better access to the oven, I'll also remove the inner glass on my oven to clean it fully on both sides.2 -
Thanks. For £3 I will give it a try, just hope it's not effective than the other products I have tried.0

We had a local oven cleaning company out to do our 12 month old oven the other month. They got it like brand new and seeing some of the jobs he has done on his Facebook page he can work magic on older and much dirtier ovens as well.
We are going to get ours done once a year now by this chap as it just isn't worth messing around with the stuff you can buy in the shops for what these companies charge.0 -

Oven Pride is very good, but it is very strong so follow the safety instructions carefully, wear strong gloves and glasses, if you get this on your skin you'll soon know because it burns.0

I am definitely a money saver, many years of it, I do my own electrics, plumbing, car repairs, you get the idea, and have even cleaned a few ovens on, but I, like a previous poster used an oven cleaning company last time. It came up like new, it was great. If you can afford it then do it, unless you like cleaning ovens1
