what timeframes are people experiencing booking a homebuyers report ?
mortgage application going in this week and concerned it may be a longer waiting time than a desktop valuation?

As the vendor, I had to liaise with my purchaser’s surveyor to arrange access for the homebuyers report. The next available appointment was slightly over four weeks from the date of my phone call, and they received the written report about ten days after that.

We had the surveyor go round 2 weeks after application went in (24th Aug), because we had to wait for a form in the post to sign and send back. Got the report 3rd Sept.

I got a few quotes from local surveyors saying they were taking bookings for 4 weeks down the line. Ended up getting the lender to do my homebuyer's report while doing the valuation. Their surveyors were a bit slow scheduling it. Supposed to be 3-5 days. By day 7 the EA asked me about it and I gave them the surveying company's number. Then it was booked for the following Friday.  Received the report the Tuesday after that (Monday was a BH). I was surprised how fast they were able to issue the report. I was told it could be up to a week.

I booked my own surveyor for a Homebuyer's Report (as we don't need a mortgage). Contacted him 1st September. He did survey 7th and emailed the report to me 11th @ 20.15. Superquick if there's no middleman/men.

Not quite as quick as our purchaser, who is a surveyor , who did his own survey (took about 90 mins) and told us there and then that he'd found nothing to concern him. Not bad for a house built in 1958 & extended late 1990s by previous owners, considering we encountered a series of bodged 'improvements' when we moved here in 2000.

We booked our Homebuyers Survey on 5th August, earliest they could do was 28th August, we didn’t get the survey through until 4th September. I don’t know if area makes a difference but we are in Bristol. It wasn’t too much of a concern for us as our mortgage offer took almost exactly the same amount of time to come through.

My buyer apparently paid for his through Nationwide 3wks ago, I still haven't been contacted to make an appointment.  He's an FTB so it's hard to get him to push them along.  I have another offer in the background so I'm getting tempted to switch buyers.
