Ethical energy?

We have been with Robin Hood energy for a long time as any profit goes to people in Nottingham.  But they have now sold out to BG!
I do not want to be with BG so is there an alternative where greedy bosses/shareholders do not get the profits?

Robin Hood didn't exactly make a profit.

You could always try the Equitable Billing Company.  Oh, wait...
  • Everyone seems to think that ethical means being green or paying to offset the damage generation causes.
But I want to know who gets the profits!   Plus some green energy suppliers are anything but green.
Good Energy was rated the worst by Ofgem for environmental and social breaches.

Robin Hood didn't make any profits.  They kept making losses, and the tax payers of Nottingham kept having to bail the company out.  I'm not sure using taxpayers money to subsidise cheap energy is particularly ethical.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

The tax payers of Nottingham subsidised people like me living hundreds of miles away.
But as BG will be honouring Robin Hood's 12m Summer Saver tariff, I'll be robbin' BG until it runs out at the end of July !
  • Yes it looks like I will stay with RH-BG for a while but would still like an answer to my original question about finding an ethical energy provider.

Difficult to answer the question without an agreed definition of 'ethical'...
It sounds like your definition requires a 'not for profit' basis?
... does 'People's Energy' meet your definition?
