Problem with garage repair - should I pay?

I took my Volkswagen Passat to  Formula One to get the brake pads and discs changed. They sheered off one of the front caliper mounting bracket bolts, so I bought a new caliper carrier and bolts . Later, they told me that they could not do the rear  brakes because they could not open the rear caliper mounting bracket bolts.

I took the car back and found that they had left the end of the hex bit stuck in one of the rear bolts. Evidently they had tried to open it and broken the tool in the process. When I rang them, they said that they would charge me to extract the end. I objected to this, as I felt that they should have used penetrating oil and/or heat if they could not loosen it. As they had already broken the front bolt, they should not have tried to force the rear one when they found it wouldn't budge.

My questions are: Should I have to pay to have the hex bit end removed? I suspect it will be a hard job to remove it, as it has sheered off flush to the bolt. And would you take it back to Formula One to get the work done, or cut your losses and take it somewhere else where they are a bit less heavy handed? I am not sure now that they won't make it worse.

I wouldn't have taken it to a tyre-fast-fit chain in the first place, so - no - definitely not giving them a second chance.

Any half-way competent proper garage will be able to sort those fasteners out with ease.
