BT Sport retention strategy, a warning!

Options
My latest BT Sport only contract (through my Sky box) came to an end and I cancelled, they offered a half decent deal, I decided to hold out.

No call back from them, and notice expired. Thought 'oh well' and decided to go with what they originally offered. So called them up and no dice - my account is closed, no interest in retentions, and if I want it back, I'm a new customer at a much higher rate...

I'm not that bothered, didn't watch a huge amount on BT, but was happy to pay for it at a discount. But over £30/month, no chance. Lost a customer but sounds like they're not bothered so there you go. They're certainly not Sky or Virgin in their approach!

Retentions always worked for me .
Current is BT max TV + BT Sport UHD at a discounted £12 pm .
  • I had BT Sport app thru Plusnet for £2.50pm (50% discount) - they then increased the overall cost to £10pm ,but only offered the £2.50 off (NOT 50% ) to increase to £7.50pm - I cancelled. Just had an offer from PN - BUT at the £10 pm price!!
