Walks planner

Options
Hello
Can anyone recommend any good website to plan UK walks? Going to Cumbrian and Northumberland soon and be great to plan some walks ahead. I can print off any details and also be useful to use any low cost Apps? (I looked at View Ranger but it costs £25 per year!).  Recommendations welcome.

The Ramblers have plenty of walks listed all over the country

They have changed the website and you need to log in to view the details but as a member I could copy any walks that you fancy and get them to you.

Just wondering, you could just try signing up on the website, I am not sure if you need to be a full member of the Ramblers to access the full website.
    Worth a try though.

Thanks, I would have joined them but doubt any groups walks are in operation with current restrictions. Only members can access the walks.

Group walks are on in some places but not others, it is very 'fluid' at the moment.
This is the kind of thing you can get from the website.

You don't need to join a walk, just get the info and off you go, below the map on the page is details of how to get there and various turns along the route at the numbered points.
  • I've just discovered All Trails today, website and app. It has a free version so you can see the routes. Otherwise this year I have been using the Countryfile website as they have a walks section, with a lot of success

I use alltrails and think that if you are a regular Walker, paying for the subscription is well worthwhile.
You can track your walk using GPS so it's virtually impossible to get lost if your map reading isn't good ;)

Thanks. Which is a better app - View ranger or All Trails?   Not sure if I will get any walks this year with new lockdown restrictions in place unless i venture off on my own :(
