Parking Fine - faulty machine

I have received a paring fine from Euro Parks.
I parked, went to pay at machine, entered my reg and tapped my contactless payment. No ticket came which seemed odd but when looking at other cars in the vicinity none seemed to have tickets in so I went about my business.
2wks later I receive a fine stating I have not paid. When I have checked my bank it seems that the payment hasn’t taken, unbeknown to me at the time.
What do I do? As far as I was aware I had done the necessary only to find out now it clearly hasn’t worked.
Where do I stand on fighting this?

Thank you.

Deal with it as per the advice given in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, first post.

I don't think Euro Parks exist any longer. Can you provide us with the precise name please? You need to be extremely accurate in the information you give us otherwise we'll be going off in wrong directions which won't help you.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Google "frustration of cintracr".

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up later this year,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.
