congestion charge and ULEZ?
Hi
I understand that Vauxhall Bridge Road is outside the congestion charge zone, but it's a hazard because going south, if you turn left, you go into the congestion charge zone.? or ULEZ zone?
If you have an ultra low emission car, then is that exempt from congestion charge?
I'm kind of confused on the difference between congestion charge zone and ULEZ zone.
Does introduction of ULEZ mean that lots of cars(meeting the standard), can drive in the congestion charge area and don't have to pay congestion charge?
So the govt is taking much less money from people, from the congestion charge zone, now than before?
Thanks

It's actually Sadiq & TFL that get the money, not the government0

No.I'm kind of confused on the difference between congestion charge zone and ULEZ zone.
Simples.
Congestion Charge is a fee for driving in the area at all, M-F, 7am-10pm
There are some exemptions - https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/congestion-charge/discounts-and-exemptions
ULEZ is a totally separate fee for driving in the area with a car that doesn't meet the emission standards. Euro4 petrol, Euro6 diesel, over 40yo historic. 24x7
Next autumn, it'll become more obvious, because the ULEZ is going to apply as far out as the circulars.0 -

Is there a way that I can check if they got me in the congestion charge? so I don't pay if I wasn't in the zone?
I was out Sat evening. I might have driven a few hundred feet into a road that was congestion charge., and parked there.
Thanks0 -

It's not "impossible not to realise". I have a mental condition, or various mental conditions. and I don't realise certain things. And besides that, not everybody is as brilliant as you or as brilliant as the average person at realising certain things.
You seem to be telling me there's no way to check, I don't think that's correct.
Their phone lines open on monday, though that is two days after I potentially breached the congestion charge. So i'm not sure if I would have to pay more if I wait till monday to call them.
I spoke to a member of the family that had gone into the congestion charge sometimes, and they thought that if you go to the website and enter your car registration then if you went into the congestion charge zone, it would say you owe something. So they think I must have not breached the congestion charge zone, because the website doesn't say I owe anything, as far as we could see, on the website.

It is absolutely impossible not to know. Absolutely.
You think you went in, chances are you went in. However the tfl page is quite clear about the charges although the term charging day is possibly a little confusing.
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/congestion-charge/paying-the-congestion-charge
So if you went in Saturday you need to pay £17.50, I'd presume by close of play Tuesday. But if you confident you can check let us know how that pans out.

No, the website doesn't "tell you if you've been spotted". If it did, everybody would check in the hope they'd got away with it.0
