    We had electric gates growing up. They did seem to go mad occasionally and do odd things. They need to be serviced regularly and tested. You could press the button mid Opening cycle and they’d close. 
    Maybe one day I can afford a house Of my own with them.

    And even sliding gate give problems so don't think you are out having issues. Even with having your gate serviced 'once a year, approx. yearly' 
    Oh, and of course your siblings would have. smaller version at 11 foot. Yours couldn't be a smaller version other wise all the superwide limos wouldn't be able to get through. Except the BMWs which you've never owned (except when you did)
