Amazon or Tesco Credit Card?

I have a Tesco credit card and an Amazon Platinum credit card and have to make a £2,000 purchase.
Which of the two will give me the most "cashback" value in points?
p.s. I applied for an American Express card and was rejected so all I have are these two.

Comments

  • Depends how you value the points and where you’re more likely to make use of them once you’ve earned them.
  • Only you can decide which one will be more beneficial to you depending on which of the two you shop at the most.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.
  • £2000 spend will get you halfway to an Amazon £10 voucher so unless you're spending another £2000 in whatever time period required (I don't know if the points roll over each year) you might be better off with Tesco.
You would get £2.50 in Tesco clubcard vouchers which can be spent at Tesco at face value or you can get 2x or 3x value at clubcard partners.

Have a look at the Virgin Mastercard, You will get introductory bonus miles for spend threashold plus miles for spend.
if you are planning a longhaul holiday once things get back to normal it may be worthwhile.
usually its better to book a cheap Virgin flight (lots on offer) then use points to upgrade to a better cabin class

I think it is Amazon gets you £10 for every £4000 spent, Tesco one clubcard point for every £8 spent (or every £4 spent in Tesco). You get more value with Amazon, but you get more regular returns on the Tesco points . I would say if you shop at Tesco even semi-regularly, then that is the better option. Also, my experiences with Amazon has been getting pretty bad the past year. It seems to be flooded with lots of cheap low-quality knock-offs, so I'm less inclined to shop there these days.
