Hello all,
I took out a Barclaycard credit card about 6 or 7 years ago and I stupidly messed up with the repayments due to poor financial situation at the time. I was honest with Barclaycard and we set up a monthly repayment plan of £10 per month in 2015. It was a £1200 debt with a bit of interest, but they froze it for me and I began paying by direct debit. Not long afterwards they sold the debt to PRA group who contacted me with the usual threatening letter and ordered me to start paying them instead, so I set up a direct debit for £10 a month with them. I randomly noticed today a £10 payment had gone out of my bank to Barclaycard a few days ago, so I checked further into my statements and I've been paying £10 a month to PRA group for the past five years and also paying the same £10 per month to Barclaycard! So they sold my debt but continued to take the payment and I've been paying it twice unknowingly for the past five years. What can I do about this?! Thanks in advance!

Simple answer contact Barclaycard and explain what’s happened!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0

Usually they’re standing orders, no?
Just contract Barclays as they are the original creditor and explained what happened and also contact PRA0 -
Unknowingly how exactly?Middleman84 said:Hello all,

Look on the bright side! It turns out you could afford twice as much as you thought and now you have paid of your debt in half the time 😃1

I’d check your annual statements from PRA.
Most likely Barclaycard have been sending the £10 to the Agency that’s what usually happens. Need to double check that though just in case, but if they have you won’t get it back.

Make it a complaint so its gets more scrutiny, the money should have been passed on to PRA, but don`t take it for granted, chances are its sat in some dormant holding account waiting to be claimed.
