My car was written off and there was no dispute about that. I was stationary and parked and somebody ran into the back. I had some minor injuries, notably a big lump on my shin where it hit the parcel shelf, but I didn't intend to claim as it wouldn't make me miss work. I was offered £250 for my injuries straight off but declined as I didn't know whether they would worsen. I think the fear of an injury claim prompted a very good offer for my wreck, which I accepted. I didn't need to claim for injury, although the wife thinks I was an idiot to turn down £250. If your son had injuries, it may increase his payout.
Parcel shelf? Where were you at the time?
  • There was a shelf under the front dashboard. Modern cars have various storage areas......

    Update:
well it worked out really well. After taking on board from here the suggestion of trying to get the best deal for a settlement rather than faffing with fixing it, we went back to them with links of similar age, mileage cars. Anyhoo, they upped the offer and ended up giving  him more that what he purchased the car for! Were so impressed he’s even thinking of using them as his insurance company now ( as admiral were not particularly helpful)  LOL

    Thanks for all your help

  • How long do you wait for an answer?
Son ran in the back of a vehicle, reported it to his Insurance Company, but a week later still waiting for the Insurance to make a decision on what to do.  How long do we wait before complaining nothing is being done?  Read about this company in a review that a lady had an accident in February and was still waiting for a decision in August?  Any advice would be welcome on what to do next.  Everytime he rings, they just say, we'll deal with it tomorrow?
  • The drug you are taking has killed many in America, it becomes addictive after 3 days. My wife has become addicted to it and cannot stop taking it. The government announced several months ago that doctors will not subscribe it any more because it does not work.
